Fehr, Kornexl

IRON MOUNTAIN — Cassandra Jean Fehr, daughter of Peter and Renee Fehr of Iron Mountain, and Trevor James Kornexl, son of Dale and Mary Ann Kornexl of Mount Pleasant, Mich., were united in marriage on Aug. 19, 2017.

The ceremony was held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain, with Fehr family friend, the Rev. Kate Mensing of Mora, Minn., officiating the ceremony.

The reception was held at the beautiful Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Bethany Fehr, as maid of honor along with friends Alysa Hoffman and Audra Anderson as bridesmaids.

The best man was the groom’s brother, Matthew Kornexl, and the groomsmen were Tyler Grady and Andrew LaJoie, friends of the bride and groom.

The bride’s cousins, Zachary Olson and Nathan Zurcher, served as ushers.

The bride’s cousins, Ellis Boyd, was the flower girl and Sam Christesen the proud ring bearer.

The bride is a 2012 graduate of Iron Mountain High School and a 2016 graduate of Central Michigan University. She graduated with a business degree in human resources management. She is currently employed with Auto-Owners Insurance Company in Lansing, Mich.

The groom is a 2012 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Mount Pleasant, and a 2016 graduate of Central Michigan University. He graduated with a business degree in information systems. He also is employed with Auto-Owners Insurance Company in Lansing.

The couple met in the fall of 2012 at Central Michigan University, where they were members of the Chippewa Marching Band, alto saxophone section. They proudly marched in the band for four years until their graduation in 2016.

On Oct. 8, 2016, Trevor proposed to Cassandra on the marching band’s practice field where they had met for the first time.

They currently reside near DeWitt, Mich., where they purchased their first home in April of 2017.
