Wabeno Art and Music Fest planned for Aug. 4

WABENO — Wabeno Art and Music Fest, or WAM Fest, is planned for Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Wabeno Band Shell on Highway 32.

In its fourth year, it’s a full day of live music and other activities, starting at 10 a.m.

The Water Street Jacks band will play at 8 p.m. Other performers include the Woodland Sky Native Dance Company at 6:45 p.m.

An outdoor, or plein air, painting competition and Junior Rembrandt for kids are planned as well.

Folk artists will relive local traditions, including beadwork, basketry, quilt, wood, rugs, polka, logging camp and more. The event includes food, drinks, raffles, and art for sale.
