IRON MOUNTAIN — Upcoming events planned at the Dickinson County Library Branches include:

Tuesday

Miniature Maestros: Storytime UnPlugged, 10:30 a.m., at the main Dickinson County Library in downtown Iron Mountain.

The Page by Page Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. at the main Dickinson County Library. The book selection is chosen at each month’s meeting for the upcoming month, so attend the program to cast a vote. The selection will be advertised on the library’s website, www.dcl-lib.org/pbpbookclub, which also has reading guides and past selections. New members are always welcome.

Wednesday

Learn about drums and sound at Don’t Skip the Beat with Shelton Span at 6 p.m. at the main Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. This program, featuring local musician Span, will introduce children from kindergarten through fifth grade to a wide variety of drums and music techniques. This program is sponsored by attorney Brian Brouillette.

Thursday

Saturday

All Summer Reading minutes must be logged by 5 p.m. Kids, teens and adults can turn in handwritten calendar log, enter minutes online through Wandoo Reader or visit one of the library sites. Thursday, Aug. 2

Everyone is invited to Music in the Courtyard: Ivy Vicious and the Evil Tones at 6 p.m.. at the Dickinson County Library–Main Branch. Join us for a summer evening concert featuring local musicians Ivy Vicious and the Evil Tones. The library is excited to host a series of concerts in our courtyard at the Main Branch in Downtown Iron Mountain. This program is sponsored by The Slajus Family.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

Celebrate summer reading success at our End of Summer Reading Parties from 3 to 5 p.m. at the main Dickinson County Library and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Solomonson Branch in Norway. Children and young adults of all ages can celebrate the end of Summer Reading with a final bash at the library. Each program will feature a performance by Marquette-based performer Corinne Rockow, followed by DIY Instrument Crafts with library staff and refreshments served by the Friends of the Library.

Participants in the program can stop in at any time during any of these programs to pick up awards and prizes for Summer Reading accomplishments, and enjoy treats, games and activities. These programs are for children in preschool through Grade 12, and are sponsored by the Friends of the Dickinson County Library.

Wednesday, Aug 8

A Novel Bunch Book Club will meet sy 2 p.m.. at the Dickinson County Library–Solomonson Branch. The Novel Bunch book selection is chosen at the meeting each month for the upcoming month: attend the program to cast your vote. Reading guides for this book are available at the Solomonson Branch and on the Dickinson County Library website, www.dcl-lib.org/norwaybookclub. New members are always welcome.

Thursday, Aug. 9

End of Summer Reading Party at 1 p.m.. at the Dickinson County Library–North Dickinson Branch. This program will feature DIY Instrument Crafts with library staff and refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library.
