Chronic pain management workshop to be offered

MENOMINEE — A Chronic Pain Self-Management program will be offered in Iron Mountain and Menominee for those who live with pain that has lasted longer than three to six months.

The six-week program will teach practical skills for living with, or caring for someone with, any type of health condition that causes chronic pain, such as fibromyalgia, back problems, arthritis and lupus.

The first program will be 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays starting Sept. 18 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1210 S Kimberly Ave., in Iron Mountain.

The next will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Mondays starting Oct. 1 at the Spies Public Library in Menominee.

Chronic Pain Self-Management focuses on self-care, learning new strategies for managing pain and gentle exercises to help manage pain. Group meets for two and a half hours once a week.

There is no cost to attend and program includes workshop materials.
