IRON MOUNTAIN –The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship room at First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain, which is behind Slumberland furniture.

A short business meeting and a brief educational program will be followed by the usual informal Stamp Club auction. Members are encouraged to bring up to five lots for the auction, and the club will also auction lots of some recently acquired stamps.

The Northwoods Philatelic Society promotes the fun and fellowship of stamp collecting. The club is comprised of folks from both Michigan and Wisconsin, and is open to students as well as adults. Collectors range from very new to sophisticated. Membership is free; the only requirement is an interest stamp collecting.

“The meetings are fun and informal, and everybody is welcome,” member Jim Stearns said.
