Bay West LIFE meets Nov. 8

Kristin Sommerfeld

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Bay West LIFE group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 to learn about the various services provided by the Dickinson-Iron Community Services Agency.

Groups and families of all ages benefit from the activities and services of DICSA.

Kristin Sommerfeld, the executive director of the agency, will provide an overview of the kinds of things they do that benefit the community. She will also describe her experiences in operating several different grant-funded programs.

Sommerfeld grew up in Kingsford, attended Dickinson Area Catholic Schools and graduated from Kingsford High School. She then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in international studies from St. Norbert College. She has been with DICSA for 20 years and lives in Quinnesec with her husband Doug and two sons.

Bay West LIFE is a group who believe in lifelong learning. They meet at the Bay West campus on the second Thursday of each month. There is no charge for the programs and visitors are encouraged to attend.
