Christmas lunches planned at Florence County centers

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Florence County will host a special Christmas lunch Wednesday at three of the senior dining centers in the county.

“We’ll do the cooking, so you can relax and enjoy great food and great company,” said Maria Bournoville, information and assistance specialist at the ADRC of Florence County.

The dining centers will serve glazed ham, scalloped potatoes, broccoli Normandy, rolls and cranberry apple crisp with whipped topping for dessert.

To make the day extra special, two of the dining centers will offer holiday music. The Florence School Choir will perform at the Florence site from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m., and John Gorgol from Fence will play at the Fence Town Hall, at a time still to be determined.

The dinner schedule at the three locations is:

— 11:30 a.m., Florence Community Center, 749 Central Ave., Florence. Call 715-528-4261.

— 11:30 a.m., Woodland Café, Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College center in Aurora, 2030 Calvary St. Call 715-589-4491.

— Noon, Fence Town Hall, 588 Memory Lane. Call 715-589-4491.

Reservations are requested 48 hours in advance and necessary to ensure enough meals are prepared. Call one of the centers above to make reservation and schedule transportation if needed.

There is a suggested donation of $4 for those age 60 or older, and $7 for all others.

For more information about the Christmas lunch, nutrition programs or transportation available, call the ADRC at 715-528-4890.
