MARQUETTE — The Marquette Choral Society each year considers whether and to whom to present annual Upper Peninsula Choral Leadership Awards.

They invite nominations for this award, which must be submitted in writing and must show the nominee has provided at least 10 years of service to choral music in the U.P. Excellence in teaching, conducting, and/or support for quality choral music all are considered.

Awards may be presented posthumously; no more than two awards per year can be granted.

The awards were launched in 1991 in celebration of the choral society’s then-20th anniversary
