‘The Green Book’ presented on Thursday
ESCANABA — The Bay College Film Series’ showing of “The Green Book” has been rescheduled to Thursday after the college was closed for inclement weather on the original Feb. 7 viewing date.
The film will be at 7 p.m. Eastern time in the Besse Center Theater.
As a Valentine’s Day present to patrons, admission prices will be $4 and students will get in free.
Based on the memoirs of Tony Lip, the movie tells the story of Dr. Don Shirley, played by Marhershala Ali, an internationally acclaimed African-American pianist who goes on a concert tour in the Jim Crow South.
He hires the Italian-American Lip, played by Viggo Mortensen, as his driver and companion, and the two men must work together to survive the dangerous racism of the time.
