Norway-Vulcan Woman’s Club holds senior tea

NORWAY — The Norway-Vulcan Woman’s Club hosted the 2019 Norway High School Senior Girls Tea May 8, at Oak Crest Golf Club in Norway.

President Colleen Carlson began the program by welcoming the graduating seniors and their guests to the 77th annual Senior Tea.

She shared thoughts of encouragement and support in their future endeavors with word of comfort and humor. Carlson also gave a brief history of the 99-year-old club.

Katie Leiker, class vice president and Haley Clifford, class secretary, introduced the class members and their guest. A tea lunch of sandwiches, salad, graduation cake, tea, coffee and punch was served.

Pam Bartelli introduced guest speaker, Jenny DeDecker of Full Moon Rising in Norway. DeDecker specializes in massage therapy and is working on her doctorate, mind and body awareness.

She spoke about the importance of managing stress. Using a One-Minutes Breathing Space activity called “STOP.” She guided the girls in a little exercise that they could use to help them in stressful situations.

Club scholarships were presented by Debbie Bryant to Amanda Bekkala and Danielle Harms. The Women’s Club congratulates them and all of the senior girls and the best of luck.

The senior thank you response was given by Danielle Harms, treasurer.
