Lunchtime LIVE! music series begins

ESCANABA — Bay College will kick off of its outdoor music series Lunchtime LIVE! on Thursday in the central outdoor courtyard on its Escanaba campus.

“The start of summer means fun, sun, and hopefully a little live music and good food along the way,” said Emilie Schada, Bay College community events and marketing coordinator. “Bay College is a great place to enjoy all year-round and in the summer, our new courtyard will be abloom with native plants and flowers, providing a great backdrop to enjoy local music and food from local vendors.”

Bay College’s first Lunchtime LIVE! performance takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern time, featuring the band The Blue Auroras, along with food available for purchase from Toby’s Dog House of Manistique and Rapid River’s Brisket Barn. The Blue Auroras will feature “beachy” surf tunes, just in time for summer.

Surf attire is encouraged and those donning their most colorful beach wear will be granted a ticket for admission to the upcoming concert in the Besse Theater featuring award-winning ukulele player Victoria Vox at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time July 10.

The community is encouraged to make Bay College’s Lunchtime LIVE! part of their summer itineraries, especially during their lunch breaks on June 27, July 11, July 25 and Aug. 1.

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held indoors in the Cafe. The courtyard may be accessed through the Besse Center’s main entrance or from parking lot E.
