Sleeman graduates from West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Cadet Carlie Patricia Sleeman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Sleeman of Pinckney, Mich., graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on Saturday, May 25.

Sleeman graduated from Pinckney Community High School in 2015. While at West Point, she concentrated her studies in computer science. She was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army within the cyber branch and will report to Fort Gordon, Ga., for her first assignment.

U.S. Military Academy at West Point is a four-year, co-educational, federal, liberal arts college located 50 miles north of New York City. It was founded in 1802 as America’s first college of engineering.

She is the daughter of former Iron River residents and West Iron County High School graduates Alan and Patty Sleeman. Her grandparents are George and Annie Brunswick and the late Keith Sleeman and Fern Rizzardi. She also has aunts and uncles in Iron River, Duane and JoAnn Sleeman and Patti and Jeff Sabotta.
