4-H teens to teach about technology

ZACH SCHROEDER, LEFT, and Aengus Patterson, both of the Niagara 4-H Badger Buds, are teaching adults about technology.

NIAGARA, Wis. — Two members of the Niagara 4-H Badger Buds will be conducting educational sessions to teach adults about technology.

Zach Schroeder and Aengus Patterson, in collaboration with the Niagara Public Library, will host a session about searching online effectively and social media from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 9, at the library.

In partnership with the Niagara Senior Center, a session on using cell phones will take place at noon Wednesday, July 31, at the senior center.

A session about parental controls and keeping children safe online will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at Niagara Public School, as a joint venture with the school district.

Nationally, 4-H recently partnered with Microsoft to create the tech change makers initiative, which empowers 4-H teens to teach adults about technology and its benefits.

Marinette County 4-H would like to thank the Goodman Senior Meal site and Riverside United Methodist Church in Niagara for allowing teens to previously host teaching sessions at these locations.
