Bay College sets audition dates for ‘The Wizard of Oz’

ESCANABA — Adult auditions for available roles in Bay College’s musical theater adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz” will be 7 p.m. Eastern time Sunday and Monday in the Besse Center Theater in Escanaba.

The adult auditions are open to ages 17 years and older. They will consist of reading and acting out characters from the script, learning and singing a small portion of a song from the show as well as a short choreographed movement exercise on stage.

Auditions for ages 8 to 16 years old will be Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 24-25. Pre-registration is required for the youth auditions. Those wanting to audition must complete an online registration form beforehand; it also includes time slots to choose from. Youth audition days and times will be confirmed via email to the parent or guardian.

All youth auditions are closed, meaning parents or guardians will not be permitted in the theater during the audition process.

Those who are age 17 must pre-registration as well; however, note that auditions will take place during adult auditions on Sunday and Monday.

For more information, go to Bay College’s “Wizard of Oz” page at http://www.baycollege.edu/Oz.

The youth audition pre-registration form, participation agreement form and additional information about the audition process is on the Bay College “Wizard of Oz” site as well.
