Community chorus practice set

KINGSFORD — The Dickinson County Community Chorus will have the first rehearsal of its 53rd season at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Rehearsals will continue on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford.

This rehearsal will begin preparations for the “Sounds of Christmas” concert set for Dec. 2-3 at the Kingsford High School auditorium.

The chorus will be under the leadership of principal conductor, Crystal Hogan. Jean Panek will serve as accompanist for the group. Gail Vornkahl will be associate conductor and John Calo will continue with the group as assistant director.

The chorus has no charge for membership and no auditions. However, prospective new members should possess some knowledge of choral singing and are able to attend most rehearsals.

The children’s chorus, under the direction of Dawn Kranz, will begin rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, and will continue on the same nights as the adult choir.
