QUINNESEC — Quinnesec United Methodist Church will have the final Gather Round the Campfire event of the summer at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Tim and Ashley Lawrence and the Lake Lundgren Bible Camp crew will lead songs, stories and give the group an update on what’s happening at the camp. Campfire-type snacks will be served. As a reminder, Quinnesec United Methodist Church also offers a Cool Zone to members of the community from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. during extremely hot and muggy days. We make this offer to all, but especially want to invite those with health issues and the elderly so they can be safe, said Mark Rose, chairman of the church administrative council. We will open our doors on days that are 90 degrees to make your life more comfortable and safer. They encourage those who come to bring a hobby activity, book, game or puzzle, as the on-site activities are limited at the church.
