NORWAY — Maxine Meneghini, formally of Maxine’s Bridal Shop, has found happiness in volunteering since selling her store in Norway.

She finds that volunteering keeps her physically active, emotionally in a good place and gives her much satisfaction to be helping out her neighbors.

Meneghini joined Retired and Senior Volunteer Program two years ago and since then has donated more than 779.50 hours. She enjoys what she does for the St Vincent de Paul store in Norway, such as staffing the cash register, tending the toys in the back to make sure they’re ready for the store shelf and running the Food Conference two days a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

She enjoys the group of volunteers she works with and encourages anyone looking for a meaningful experience to stop by the store and fill out a volunteer application.

Janice Pellegrini has been a RSVP volunteer since August 2006, giving more than 12,801 hours. Pellegrini can be found volunteering 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. five days a week. She assists with Feeding America, makes homemade washcloths to sell in the store and helps wherever she is needed.

They have a wonderful camaraderie and find themselves as a group going out on Friday evenings for fish fry. Pellegrini likes what volunteering has done for her. She feels better emotionally and physically and enjoys how this has fulfilled her social life. She loves volunteering for this store.

St. Vincent de Paul in Norway needs volunteers. All they ask is a commitment to at least three hours a week, with more hours available if desired.
