Rizzo to speak at Bay West LIFE meeting

JOE RIZZO

IRON MOUNTAIN — Joe Rizzo, Public Relations Manager at Dickinson County Hospital will present “For The Community We Love” at the Bay West LIFE meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bay West Campus in Iron Mountain.

Born in Brooklyn, Rizzo and his wife, the former Heidi Elliott of Kingsford, have two children, both in high school. He fell in love with the U.P., this community, and the hospital.

Formerly a PGA golf professional, his background is strong in customer service and hospitality. Since his arrival, he has become active in the community, with membership in the Elks, Rotary, and serving as vice president of the United Way here.

Since joining DCHS, he has accepted responsibility not only for public relations, but also the management of the Occupational Health Clinic as well as supervising the Health Risk Appraisal and Wellness program.

His program will offer an overview of the History of the hospital, the changing healthcare environment, the struggles of smaller rural hospitals, the current status of our hospital, the restructuring and strategic plan, and the future of DCHS.

Everyone who is interested in hearing how far they have come and where they are going as a hospital and community is welcome.

Bay West LIFE is a group who believe in lifelong learning. They meet at the Bay West campus on the second Thursday of each month. There is no charge for the programs and visitors are encouraged to attend.
