Benefit concert for Micah Carlson
Event planned Saturday in City Park
IRON MOUNTAIN — A benefit concert for 3-year-old Micah Carlson will take place Saturday in City Park.
The Transformation Band will perform at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 in the City Park building. Those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs and snacks to share.
The band consists of Crystal Hogan, John Jamar, Josh March, Lorna March, Paul Schuiteman and Shelton Span. They perform a mix of classic rock and inspirational tunes.
The concert is free but donations will be accepted for the Carlson family.
Micah is the son of Bryan and Kayla Carlson of Iron Mountain and grandson of Randy and Jane Carlson of Iron Mountain.
He was diagnosed with alpha one antitrypsin deficiency, an inherited condition that raises the risk for liver disease, which he has battled since he was born. He is on the liver transplant list.
