Crystal Lake Senior Center expands its meal services

The Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency has expanded meal offerings at the Crystal Lake Senior Center in September when it offered its first night meal on Tuesday. The next night meal will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, and will continue on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

The menu for the Sept. 24 evening meal is Swedish meatballs, rice and peas. The salad bar begins at 4 p.m., with the meal served at 4:30 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the center at 906-239-0278.

The public is welcome. Suggested donation is $4 per meal for those age 60 and older and$5 for those younger than 60.

The Crystal Lake Senior Center in Iron Mountain reopened its kitchen in July and resumed the preparation of daily noon meals for home deliveries at that time. Beginning at the end of August, a noon meal was begun at the center every Wednesday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. as a part of DICSA’s nutrition program. It is paid for by the Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress, or UPCAP, senior millage and public donations.

Menus for all DICSA meals are published in Lifestyles in the weekend edition of The Daily News.
