CRYSTAL FALLS — The Northwoods Readers Book Club met Thursday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Crystal Falls for their first book discussions this season plus dessert.

The Northwoods Readers Book Club has been meeting since 1998 and, as of this fall, changed their discussion group location to St. Mark’s to ease access for members and enjoy the accommodation provided by the church community.

Church members Ruth and Al Pieper host the monthly book club discussion group, which meets on the third Thursday of the month from September through May.

For the coming 2019-2020 season, the group chose these books to read and discuss: “The Marsh King’s Daughter” by Karen Dionne; “Stuck in Manistique” by Dennis Cuesta; “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas; “Stranger in the Woods” by Michael Finkell; “Last Bus to Wisdom” by Ivan Doig; “The Music Shop” by Rachael Joyce; “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury; and, finally, “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens.
