Second Sunday dance planned

Wisconsin-based performer Johnsmith will perform at the next Second Sunday Folk Dance.

CRYSTAL FALLS — The 35th annual season of the Second Sunday Folk Dance series begins with award-winning sing-songwriter Johnsmith on Sunday in Crystal Falls.

The concert starts at 4 p.m. and includes an opening set by White Water and a one-hour concert by special musical guests. The second half of the event is a 90-minute dance with music by the Front Parlor Dance Band and dance caller Steve Kickert. For more than 30 years, Johnsmith has been sharing his music all across America and abroad. He is a favorite at festivals, clubs and house concerts.

In addition to being a Kerrville New Folk Winner, Johnsmith has released eight solo CDs, leads musical tours to Ireland, teaches songwriting and has served as a staff songwriter in Nashville.

Admission is $7 for adults; children age 15 and younger are admitted free.
