The Wallens in concert Sunday at the Braumart

MOLLY AND BRIAN KEITH WALLEN

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Wallens will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Braumart Theatre in Iron Mountain.

The Wallens have brought their close-knit harmony vocals and storytelling to Australia, Europe and across the U.S. to events such as the Telluride Blues Fest and the Marquette Winter Roots Festival.

Originally hailing from Kentucky, Molly Wallen is a classically-trained vocalist with experience in opera and bluegrass alike.

Hoosier guitarist/vocalist Brian Keith Wallen won second place in the 2015 international Blues Challenge and was also named “Artist of the Year” by the Starr-Gennett Foundation. Incorporating elements of blues, bluegrass, country, and folk, their sound is full of foot-stomping energy.

Lake Shore Systems is sponsoring the concert.

“We are happy to bring The Wallens to our community and contribute to the Braumart’s fundraising efforts. The Wallens are a talented couple who bring energy and creativity to their music. Their energy is contagious, and I won’t be surprised if I see some hand clapping and dancing by the audience,” said Kellie Sexton, Lake Shore Systems, Inc. community relations manager. With Lake Shore’s sponsorship of the band, all ticket sales go directly to the Braumart’s renovation project.

Advance tickets for $15 are available online at www.thebraumart.org and at the Braumart box office from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Day of show tickets are $20 and are available at the door.
