Bell ringers needed in Florence

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign soon will be underway in Florence County. It’s been shown that more contributions get into those familiar Red Kettles when a friendly person is standing by.

So volunteers are needed to make this year’s Red Kettle campaign a success. Volunteering can be done individually, as a group or organization or as a family. Children or grandchildren also can ring the bell with an adult. Volunteers can sign up for an hour or two as schedules permit.

To volunteer, call coordinator Karen Wertanen at 715-528-4744. Funds raised are used in Florence County to provide direct, local emergency assistance, not only at Christmas but throughout the year.

Organizers are grateful that, once again, these Florence County businesses have agreed to host bell ringers: Riverside Liquor and Party Store in Spread Eagle, Wis.; Pat’s Foods in Florence, Wis.; and the Aurora BP/Liquor Store in Aurora.

Donations can also be sent for the Salvation Army to the Great North Bank, P. O. Box 500, Florence, WI 54121.
