Niagara museum donation

Karen Klenke was surprised when the Niagara Lions Club at a recent dinner presented her with a $500 check for the Niagara Historical Museum’s mural fund drive. The donation recognized Klenke’s long history of service to the Niagara community and the Lions Club. In addition to her current role as head of the Niagara museum, Lions secretary Kerry Grippen talked of Klenke’s long history of not charging for taking the Miss Niagara photographs as well as her role in bringing a doctor to the Niagara community and helping to get the medical center built. He also mentioned that Klenke remains active with the Niagara Medical Society, which annually awards scholarships to graduates of Niagara, Goodman-Armstrong Creek and Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine schools who plan a medical career. From left are Miss Niagara court members Olivia Brasure and Jessica Oratch, Miss Niagara Julia Brown, Klenke, Lions Club treasurer Dan Decker and president Gordon Behnke.
