Bay LIFE meeting features presentation on Bay Cliff Camp

CLARE LUTGEN

IRON MOUNTAIN –Bay West LIFE will present Clare Lutgen at 10 a.m. Thursday for a program titled, “The Bay Cliff Experience, Through the Eyes of Our Campers”.

Lutgen, a native of Marquette, took her bachelor of science degree from Purdue University to Indiana Wesleyan, where she earned a masters in education, and ultimately to Indiana University, where she completed her doctorate.

She has taught high school science, and served as an administrator and innovator in Lafayette and Fort Wayne, Ind. She is happy to be back home in the U.P. of Michigan.

For many years, Bay Cliff has been a refuge and an inspiration for persons with mental or physical disabilities.

“We all ‘know’ about the camp, but how many of us know what really happens there?” a spokesman said.

The program is free and the coffee is hot. This learning experience is at the Bay College West campus on U.S. 2 in north Iron Mountain.
