Library accepting items for Prom Dress Swap

DICKINSON COUNTY LIBRARY staff members Amanda Griggs, left, and Nikki Younk show off two of the dresses donated for this year’s Prom Dress Swap, set for March 7-8 at the Iron Mountain library.

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Dickinson County Library is now accepting donations of gently used and clean dresses, shoes and other prom accessories for the 11th annual Prom Dress Swap.

This year’s swap is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. It allows teens in ninth through 12th grade to choose a formal dress and accessories to take home and keep at no charge.

Donated dresses should be brought on a hanger, if possible, and marked with the dress size if the tag is missing. Donations are accepted at all library sites.

No donation is required to take home a dress; however, those who do donate will receive a ticket granting them admission to the first hour of the swap Saturday. Those who do not donate may attend during general admission after the first hour.
