Dentistry From The Heart set for Saturday

Dr. Nicole Hartwig and Dr. Dan Fornetti work on a patient during the Dentistry From the Heart event in 2019. This year’s event will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

IRON MOUNTAIN — The John Fornetti Dental Center again will participate in Dentistry From The Heart to provide free dental care for those in need Saturday at 100 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.

Drs. John and Dan Fornetti, along with Dr. Nicole Hartwig and their team of employees, volunteers and sponsors, will mark a 14th year of offering the choice of a free extraction, filling or hygiene cleaning to those age 18 and older who come in that day.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with patients seen on a first-come, first-served basis until 3 p.m.

The center’s parking lot will be converted into an outdoor waiting room, with a heated area and burn barrels. Those attending, however, still should dress for the cold.

The John Fornetti Dental Center’s 2019 event provided 104 people with roughly 273 procedures worth more than $40,000 in donated services.

Dentistry From The Heart was started in 2001 by New Port Richey dentist Dr. Vincent J. Monticciolo as a way to help the growing number of Americans without dental insurance.

Those interested in volunteering for the event or getting more information can call 906-774-0100 or go on the web to www.drjohnfornetti.com and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/drjohnfornetti.
