Northwoods Geology Club plans outing and meeting

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, in the lower level of the Florence Natural Resource Center.

They will take appropriate COVID-19 prevention measures such as cleaning tables before and after use, having hand sanitizer available and social distancing during the meeting. Those attending should bring their own mask, snacks and drinks. The drawing for door prizes will be near the end of the meeting.

Also, the club has scheduled a field trip Sunday to the Carter, Wis., area to search for quartz crystals and learn about the geology of that area.

They will meet at 10 a.m. Sunday at the gas station across from the casino in Carter. For those who prefer to caravan to the site, someone will be in the upper parking lot of the Florence Resource Center at 8:30 a.m. Participants should wear appropriate clothing, shoes, eye protection and bring tools and other equipment.
