Celello selected as DAR Good Citizen at IMHS

GABRIEL CELELLO

IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain High School senior Gabriel Celello, the son of Michael and Andrea Celello of Iron Mountain, has been selected by the Iron Mountain High School faculty as the nominee for the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen program. He was selected for exhibiting the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

Taking great pride in his leadership skills, he has demonstrated his ability in numerous ways. He has been a member of student council all four years of high school, taking on the role of student council president his senior year. He has also participated in Youth in Government for three years and has been a member of the Youth Advisory Council for two years.Celello is an active member of Key Club. Involved for the past four years, he has performed the role of Key Club president both his junior and senior year.

Celello shows strong academic ability. He has consistently been on the IMHS honor roll for four years and a member of the IMHS Honor Society both his junior and senior year. He has competed in mathematics and attended both Boys State and the MY Lead Scholarship programs. He enjoys sports, such as soccer and golf, and is a varsity letter recipient.

Celello is a hard-working, dependable young man. Outside of the classroom, he works two different jobs in the community. He is active both in his church and its youth group. In addition, Celello frequently volunteers for the Knights of Columbus Mission. He is undoubtedly a positive role model for all students at IMHS.

All of these distinguished character traits helped secure his nomination for the DAR representative of IMHS. He feels a strong sense of patriotism and is proud to have veterans within his own family. He is completing the process in hopes of entering the U.S. Naval Academy after graduation. Celello expressed in a recent essay, “The honor of being a part of this great country has given me the feeling of wanting to be part of something bigger than myself.”
