Salvation Army donation

From left, Jennifer Witte and Tara Blagec from The Salvation Army accept a $6,865 donation from Trisha Peterson, general manager WJNR/WOBE/WHTO Radio. The radio station hosted its annual Purse and Pour event this fall at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall in Niagara, Wis. They also collected food and donations for the food pantry and collected 75 items. One hundred percent of the proceeds went to The Salvation Army. The agency serves the population with the most needs, and this year has had many unique requests and a high demand for services. The Salvation Army provided the food — including an incredible selection of meats, cheeses, dips, appetizers, salads and desserts, which was worth the ticket alone. At the event, they always have the guests choose next year’s charity that will benefit — the Almost Home Animal Shelter was selected. The next event will be April 21 at the new Venue 906 in Kingsford. They already are shopping for new designer purses and taking donations of gently used purses the public can bring to the radio stations.

Starting at $3.50/week.
