Bay College announces art student awards selections

ESCANABA -- Bay College has presented the award winners for its virtual Student Art Exhibition. Each year, Bay College hosts a gallery showing of the current students' work.

Each semester a "Purchase Prize Award" is given to one student per course. The work chosen becomes part of Bay College's Art Collection. The students also receive second, third and honorable mention awards.

The "Purchase Prize Award" winners are Digital Cinema II -- Jane Karweick, "Surreal Self-Portrait"; Digital Cinema I -- Deanna DeValve, "Self-Portrait"; Intro to Art Design -- Deanna DeValve, "A Christmas Procrastinator"; Drawing I -- Mariah Sullivan, "Still Life."

Additional award winners include:

Digital Cinema II -- second place, Honora Seppanen, "Surreal Self-Portrait."

Digital Cinema I -- second place, Cheyenne LaMarch, "Sound Project"; third place, Jesse Schafer, "Sound Project"; honorable mention, Miguel Isaac.

Drawing I -- second place, Garrett Van Nett, "Still Life"; third place, Jane Karweick, "Still Life"; and honorable mention, Cheyenne LaMarch and Honora Seppanen.

Intro to Art Design -- second place, Cheyenne LaMarch, "Paid By the Word"; third place, Lauren Czerwan, "Hey Diddle Diddle"; and honorable mention, Lauryn Bloniarz.
