Albion College fall 2020 dean’s list and new fellows

ALBION, Mich. — Albion College announces students who were named to the dean’s list or who were named new Albion College Fellows at the end of the fall 2020 semester.

Dean’s list honors recognize students with a minimum 3.5 grade-point average in four graded courses, while Albion College Fellow is an honor reserved for students who maintain a minimum 3.7 GPA over three consecutive semesters.

Eddie Cardew, a first-year student, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. Cardew is a resident of Sagola and is a graduate of Kingsford High School.

Mackenzie Rundell, a first-year student, was named to the dean’s list. She is a member of the Prentiss M. Brown Honors Program. Rundell is a resident of Kingsford and is a graduate of Kingsford High School.

Iron Mountain student Monique Hernandez was named to the Albion College dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. Hernandez is a first-year student at Albion College and is a member of the Prentiss M. Brown Honors Program. Hernandez is a resident of Iron Mountain and is a graduate of Kingsford High School.

Iron Mountain student Grace Lorenzoni was named to the Albion College dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. Lorenzoni is majoring in English (language arts education) with a minor in art with a concentration in the Fritz Shurmur Center for Teacher Development. Lorenzoni is the daughter of Elizabeth and Jon Lorenzoni of Iron Mountain and is a graduate of Kingsford High School.

Iron Mountain student Madeline Ryan was named to the Albion College dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. Ryan is majoring in biology with a minor in anthropology and is a member of the Prentiss M. Brown Honors Program. Ryan is the daughter of Adam and Kristy Ryan of Iron Mountain and is a graduate of Kingsford High School.

DULUTH, Minn. — The College of St. Scholastica announced its fall 2020 dean’s list recipients.

Local students include:

Iron Mountain– Kylie Butterfield, a junior majoring in biology;

Iron River– Mya Grubbs, a first-year student majoring in nursing – intended.

Dean’s list members have achieved a 3.75 grade-point average or above on a 4.0 scale. The College of St. Scholastica commends these students for their honorable academic achievements.

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester.

Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction.

Local students include:

Iron Mountain — Haley Gabriel, College of Letters and Science, dean’s list;

Niagara, Wis. — Myah Anderson, School of Education, dean’s list; Olivia Brasure, College of Letters and Science, dean’s list; Megan Garvaglia, College of Letters and Science, dean’s list.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has released the names of undergraduate students receiving semester honors for the fall 2020 semester.

Students who earn a 4.0 grade-point average, which represents all “A” grades, receive highest honors.

High honors go to students earning 3.99 to 3.75 grade-point averages. Honors are given to students earning 3.74 to 3.50 grade point averages. All were full-time students in the fall term, earning 12 or more credits of graded coursework.

Local students include:

Caspian — Alyssa Dominici, semester high honors;

Iron Mountain — Emily Nelson, semester highest honors; Kelsey Wagner, semester honors;

Iron River — Kailee Abts, semester high honors; Jamie Child, semester highest honors; Lexi Pellizzer, semester honors;

Niagara, Wis. — Madison Bjorkman, semester high honors; Ethan Blagec, semester honors.

Norway — Alexis Lusardi, semester honors.

ALMA, Mich. — Alma College has released the dean’s list for those students who achieved outstanding academic performance during the 2020 fall term.

Students who achieve a 3.5 or better grade-point average during a term, while carrying a minimum of 13 credits, at least eight of which are evaluative grades, are named to the dean’s list.

Local students include Brooke Fornetti of Iron Mountain and Sarah Sherk of Kingsford.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,600 undergraduate students for attaining high grade-point averages during the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation. High honor citations go to those with GPA from 3.75 to 3.89 and honor recognition is accorded to those with a GPA from 3.50 to 3.74.

Personalized certificates of scholastic achievement are being sent to those who earned highest honors distinction.

Local students who received honors include:

Kingsford — Madelyn Doucette, sophomore, high honors;

Norway — Eric Alfredson, first-year, honors.

WINONA, Minn. — Ethan Wilcox of Quinnesec, has been named to the fall 2020 dean’s list at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. He is the son of Christopher and Diane Wilcox.

The dean’s list includes 465 undergraduate students who earned a grade-point average of 3.6 or better on a 4.0 scale.

RIVER FALLS, Wis. –Lexi Maycunich of Niagara, Wis., was among the 1,995 students named to the fall semester dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She is studying animal science.

To be named to the dean’s list, a full-time undergraduate must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0, or midway between an “A” and “B” average.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has announced students named to the fall 2020 dean’s list.

Local students who were named to the dean’s list are:

Niagara, Wis. — Bailey Broullire, College of Nursing and Health Sciences;

Norway — Danae Anderson, College of Education and Human Sciences.

Hailey Strahl of Bark River has been named to the Ferris State University College of Pharmacy dean’s list for her 4.0 grade-point average in the fall semester.

SAULT STE. MARIE — Matthew Hansen of Vulcan has been included on the dean’s list for the fall semester at Lake Superior State University.

To make the dean’s list, students must achieve a minimum of a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

Hansen is majoring in biology at LSSU.
