KINGSFORD — Woodland Childcare Center in Kingsford was recently awarded a $250 mini-grant by the Dickinson Area Community Foundation.

The funds will be used to purchase seeds and other items needed to grow their garden this spring. The children participate in all aspects of gardening, from getting the soil ready, planting the seeds, watering the plants and harvesting the produce.

They will be taught recipes and enjoy the “fruits of their labor” throughout this garden.
