KINGSFORD — The Dickinson County Golden K had its first regular meeting since March of 2020, due to the COVID-19 health safety restrictions placed on get-togethers.

Everyone was excited to get back to Golden K again.

“Auld Lang Syne” was sung in memory of Golden K members who entered their eternal home during the pandemic — John Jamar, Jim Verrette, Phyllis Galeazzi, Bruce Stuart, Joyce London, and Pat Smaby.

Singing was led by Al Calcari with the “Welcome Song” was sung for visitor June Hostettler and as a welcome back for Golden K members.

These are the words to the “Welcome Song;”

“We’re glad you’re here with us. we think it’s fine.

Hope you enjoy yourself here while we dine (on donuts).

You’re welcome back again any old time

On a monday morn, there’s always room

For your friends and mine.”

After much discussion a motion was made and a majority vote was taken to continue to meet every Monday at 10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church hall on Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford. All Golden K members and or anyone interested in joining Golden K are invited.

A GK Calling Committee was formed to call all previous GK members.

Chairperson for the meeting was Orice Walters and will continue to chair the May meetings.

Lois Outcelt will be the chairwoman for the month of June.

The group looks forward to seeing everyone at the next Monday morning meeting.
