AMBERG, Wis. — The Amberg Historical Society general membership and any interested persons will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Amberg Community center.

Updated information and plans will be shared.

The society still needs people to volunteer to act as guides for the 2021 summer season. A shortage of volunteers has forced the society to cut both days and hours for the museum to be open.

“Hundreds of guests visit the museum each year and we consider it to be a ‘jewel in our community,'”secretary Carol R. Fick said in an email.

The current plan is for the museum complex to open July 3 and will only be open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

“This could be expanded if we can get some additional help. Please consider volunteering. It’s interesting and fun to meet and greet visitors from all over the United States … and even some foreign countries,” she added.

Several displays have been upgraded and the Old Depot has been completely remodeled and rearranged with audio and video displays.
