“Every stone tells a story.” So say local historians and researchers Keith and Jayna Huotari about the headstones in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. They will host a guided tour of a portion of Cemetery Park on Saturday, visiting the final resting places and sharing interesting stories about some of Iron Mountain’s previous residents. The cemetery is at the end of Cedar Avenue, just past the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center. The tour starts at 10 a.m. under the cross at the cemetery entrance, and is expected to last about an hour. The tour is free; however, donations are welcome and will go toward cemetery beautification projects. For more information, call 906-221-3845.
