KINGSFORD -- Veteran missionaries Bill and Melissa Chappel will minister at both the 8 and 10 a.m. services Sunday at Kingsford Maranatha Assembly of God, 920 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.
For 14 years the Chappels served as pastors in northern Michigan and Indiana. They have three children, Will, Logan and Victoria.
The Chappels were commissioned in 2012 and began their missions work in India. After India, they spent their last term planting a church in Tuam, Ireland. Now they have been invited to serve as church planters in Budapest, Hungary.
In Hungary, the Chappels will be partnering with a church plant called Riverside Church. Riverside has seen a lot of growth and has a new facility for an expanding congregation. This building will be the largest facility in Hungary owned by the national church and will allow them to host conferences and conventions.
This facility is a former nightclub. However, it was completely gutted -- toilets, sinks, lights -- by the former tenants and they must raise the funds to completely renovate the facility.
The public is invited to attend one or both services. Coffee is served in the church fellowship area between services. A free-will offering for the Chappels will be taken after the service.
