Upcoming Dickinson County Library events include:
--The Story Stroll will be available to view at the North Dickinson County School in Felch Township until Friday, Aug. 20.
Fifteen signs are set up along the school's back driveway, each containing a different page of the picture book "Hiking Day" by Anne Rockwell; stroll along to read the entire story. Participants are encouraged to post a photo of themselves doing the stroll to social media with the hashtag #NordicStoryStroll. This activity is sponsored by Mission Covenant Church of Foster City.
--Public voting on the Pet Pizzazz Picture Contest entries will take place on the library's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/dickinsoncountylibrary, during the week of Aug. 9-13.
Vote on your favorite pet photos submitted by library patrons. Photos with the most "likes" will win prizes. This activity is sponsored by TDS, Inc.
--Storytime sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the main library in Iron Mountain; Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the main library; Thursday, Sept. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Solomonson Branch in Norway; Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at the main library; and Thursday, Sept. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the North Dickinson Branch in Felch Township.
Kids up to age 5 can enjoy stories, songs and other early literacy-building activities. Registration is required by calling 906-774-1218. Storytimes can be streamed on Zoom for interested patrons; call 906-774-1218 to inquire or check the events calendar on the website, www.dcl-lib.org, for more information.
--Interactive Movie: "Shrek" will be shown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at the main library.
All ages are welcome. The library will provide participants with a bag of fun items to interact with the movie. Registration is required by calling 906-774-1218. This event is sponsored by Brian Brouillette, P.C.
