MANSFIELD -- The Mansfield Memories Committee will host the annual summer service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday outdoors at the Mansfield Pioneer Church.
The old pump organ will again accompany many of the favorite hymns and gospel songs. All are invited to join in the singing. The Rev. Steve Rhoades will officiate at the ecumenical service.
The Mansfield Memories Committee extends an invitation to anyone wishing to attend the service and hope they will stay and enjoy a light lunch and fellowship afterwards. Those who attend are asked to bring a lawn chair.
No admission fee is ever charged at the church, but a free-will offering will be taken to help defray expenses. The committee has just completed a major update and repair to the church, which they hope will last for many years to come.
Each year hundreds of people visit this historic church and express their appreciation of the efforts of all those who helped in the reconstruction of the church in the 1980s. This is the only church Mansfield has known in its 130-year existence.
