CF library events next week
CRYSTAL FALLS — Several late October events are planned at the Crystal Falls District Community Library.
Mylynn Trulock, the executive director of the Dickinson/Iron Medical Care Access Coalition and Prescription Assistance Program, will be at the library to assist people with private appointments at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
She can help people choose Medicare plans, apply for Medicaid and with prescription assistance. Those interested in setting up an appointment can call her office at 906-776-5412.
On Tuesday, they will also host a retirement party from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Lorraine Wirtanen on her last day.
She has been working at the library for 19 years. Patrons are invited to come in for cake and coffee, and a chance to congratulate her on her retirement.
A Halloween Story Hour will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29. Children are welcome to come and hear some spooky stories and make a Halloween bat, spider, vampire or Frankenstein out of recycled toilet paper tubes to take home.
The library will participate in the third-annual Crystal Falls Business Association Candy Bash from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, with a sidewalk parade from City Hall down to the library after the trick or treating.
Children will be able to pick out a Halloween book to take home and read. There are books available for ghosts and goblins of all ages.
