Grace Covenant, First Lutheran offering Trunk-or-Treat in IR

IRON RIVER — Grace Covenant and First Lutheran churches have teamed up to offer a Trunk-or-Treat and floating lantern event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Grace Covenant Church at 316 Jasper St., the former Stambaugh part of Iron River.

Community families are invited to trick-or-treat around the parking lot among the variety of decorated car and truck trunks that will distribute candy.

There will be a few changes to the event from years past to take precautions against spreading illness. This will be an outdoor event only this year, with the decorated trunks, music and firepits.

A new offering this year is a time of prayer and releasing of floating, biodegradable lanterns at 6:30 p.m.

“This year has a special theme,” said Erika Sauter, a planning team member. “It’s ‘Jesus is the Light,’ and each child will receive a light-themed gift to take home.”

The event is free to attend. Questions can be directed to the Grace Covenant Church office at 906-265-9951, the First Lutheran Church office at 265-9518, or by email to egsauter@gmail.com.

Starting at $3.50/week.
