Project FRESH/Market FRESH coupon vouchers available for seniors
IRON MOUNTAIN — Older adults living in Dickinson and Iron County may qualify to receive free coupon vouchers to use at local farmers markets and roadside stands.
Senior Project FRESH/Market FRESH gives free coupon vouchers to eligible older adults to get Michigan-grown fruit, vegetables, herbs, spices and honey from farmers markets and roadside stands. To get the coupons, the person must be at least 60 years old, live in Dickinson or Iron counties and have a total household income of or less than 185% of the poverty level. For a household of one, the person cannot exceed $23,828 annually or $1,986 monthly. For a household of two, income cannot exceed $32,227 annually or $2,686 monthly.
Coupon vouchers can be picked up 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Michigan State University Extension Office in room 121 at Bay College West, 2801 N. U.S. 2 in Iron Mountain. Call ahead to make sure someone is in the office.
