Upcoming events at the Dickinson County Library include:
-- Getting to Know Your Library Scavenger Hunt: noon today at the Iron Mountain library.
Kids in third through eighth grade will be challenged to find various items throughout the children's room and tween section of the library. Whoever finishes first will win a prize, and all participants will receive a bag of goodies. Space is limited to the first 10 registrants; call 906-774-1218 to register.
-- First-Time Home Buyers 101: Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Iron Mountain library.
A real estate agent from Leeds Real Estate, a title agent from Superior Title & Abstract, and a bank loan officer from the First National Bank will offer useful information for first-time homebuyers.
-- Registration opens Monday, Nov. 15, for Teen Subscription Boxes, available for pickup on Monday, Dec. 6. Boxes have a different theme each month and include a library book, treats, some other fun items and a book review form.
Both the library book and the box must be returned, but participants may keep all other items. This is currently limited to the first five teen registrants each month. Stop in at any library site to fill out a registration form in person.
A new registration form must be filled out each month to receive the next subscription box. Registration always opens on the third Monday of each month, and boxes may be picked up at the Iron Mountain location on the first Monday of the following month.
