Salvation Army in Florence County seeks volunteers

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign is seeking the community’s help again this year.

Some of the regular bellringers are aging and no longer able to participate, so new volunteers are needed to fill in those spots throughout the holiday.

The Salvation Army remains hopeful that new volunteers will step up to ring bells at Pat’s Foods in Florence, as well as receive the donations needed to help community members throughout the year.

The public can contribute at either Pat’s Foods, at any of the small counter kettles that are in several businesses within the county or mailed directly to the Salvation Army, Great North Bank, P.O. Box 500, Florence, WI 54121.

A kettle will also be available Saturday during the Christmas in Florence event at the high school.

To volunteer to ring the bell, call Karen Wertanen at 715-528-4744 or 906-282-7302.

Campaign coordinators also appreciate having counter kettles at Barb’s Café, Pat’s Foods and the BP Station in Florence; Big Foot Liquors in Spread Eagle, Wis.; and Tom and Jo’s and the Aurora BP and Liquor Store in Aurora, Wis.

Starting at $3.50/week.
