Free meals offered for Christmas
KINGSFORD — The First Presbyterian Church once again will offer a hot meal for Christmas Day on Saturday but with no dine-in option as a safety precaution.
The free ham dinner is available by delivery or drive-through pickup only at the church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford.
Deliveries will begin at 11 a.m. and pickups are available from 11 a.m to noon Dec. 25. Those coming to the church should use the Hamilton Avenue entrance to the parking lot, where attendants will guide them into the right line.
Reservations are required by Thursday and can be made by calling the church office at 906-774-4211.
Volunteers are also needed to help deliver the meals. Those interested should call the church office as well.
A free Christmas dinner will be available Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Iron River.
The menu will include turkey with all the trimmings: mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner roll and pumpkin pie.
Church organizers are asking that those interested make reservations by calling 906-265-4334.
The community is invited to dine in, pick up their meals at the church or have meals delivered if within a 5-miles radius of the church, 800 Selden Road in Iron River. They will need a name, address and telephone number for delivery.
Meal delivery will begin at 10:30 a.m. Pickups and dining in at the church will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Donations will be accepted for the meal.
