KINGSFORD -- With the new snowfall, "Winter Wonderland" was the perfect song to begin this week's Golden K meeting Monday.
New members Judy Sielaff and Joanne Lindholm were received with a welcome song and applause. New energy and ideas are always welcomed at the Golden K.

Christmas time in the city was apparent as we watched the Iron Mountain city crew putting up lights and wreaths.
This week the meeting began with singing some traditional carols. The glorious songs of old remind us of important messages from a simpler time. "Joy to the world… And heaven and nature sing."
Chairperson Mary Jane Nelson initiated the meeting with a reminder about being decisive: Life is full of flat squirrels who couldn't make a decision.

The Golden K Christmas party for special needs children will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, in the fellowship hall at the First Presbyterian Church on Hamilton Avenue in Kingsford. Volunteers should arrive for set-up at 9 a.m.
