IRON MOUNTAIN -- The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Zonta Club is now accepting applications for its Young Women in Public Affairs Award.
The YWPA Award is open to pre-university and pre-college women age 16 to 19 committed to the volunteer sector and dedicated to the advancement of the status of women.
The YWPA Awards Program operates at the club, district, and international levels of Zonta International.
The Zonta Club of Iron Mountain-Kingsford gives a $500 monetary award to the winning candidate.
The winner of the local award moves on to compete at the district level, to vie for a $1,500 monetary award and the chance to move on to international competition.
Zonta International provides 10 $5,000 monetary awards. Applications are available online at www.zonta.org.
Fully completed applications, including all letters of reference, and transcripts and supporting documents can be mailed to Zonta, c/o Raquel Reed, US Special Delivery, P.O. Box 207, Iron Mountain, MI 49801. Deadline is Friday, March 25 -- no exceptions will be permitted.
