Suzan Peterson of Florence, Wis., and Frank Opolka of Norway were married on April 8, 1972, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence.

The couple met in December of 1970, when Frank returned home to Norway from the Vietnam War.

They have a son, Jason, and his wife, Dr. Maria Laporta Opolka, and three grandchildren, Rozlin, Aliza and Conroy; and a daughter, Jayme Lyn, who is a freelance medical and pharmaceutical writer.

Frank retired in 2010 from Norway Gravure after 43 years. Suzan also retired in 2020 from Super 8 after 22 years.

They will be taking their usual trip to Hawaii, which they take yearly on their anniversary.
