NORWAY -- Norway City Band begins rehearsals for its 140th season tonight.
The rehearsals are in the basement of the Norway City Hall from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for Tuesdays throughout May. The first concert will be 7:30 p.m. June 7 at the band shell in Norway.
Concerts and rehearsals will alternate Tuesdays until the final concert Aug. 2. The band also participates in several parades.
The band welcomes musicians, young and old, from area schools and communities, including summer visitors. High school students who have finished their freshmen year are welcome to join. Musicians receive compensation upon completion of the season.
